Today’s Bellator 179 event kicked off at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) and airs via same-day tape delay on Spike. But if you want spoilers before the broadcast, you can get them here.

Bellator 179 takes place at The SSE Arena in London, and the Spike broadcast airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald (19-4 MMA, 1-0 BMMA), who’s No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings, made his promotional debut against veteran slugger Paul Daley (39-15-2 MMA, 5-2 BMMA) in the headliner.

Dan Edwards invited Alex Lohore to join him on the mat, but Lahore didn’t bite, and it proved to be a wise move.

Even though Lohore shot in and took Edwards down, Lohore didn’t fall with him. Not wanting the fight to continue down there, Lohore waited for the referee to make Edwards stand up.

It was over seconds later as Lohore (12-1 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) dropped Edwards (14-15, 0-1 BMMA) with a straight right to finish the fight 56 seconds into the second round for his eighth consecutive win.

Kevin Ferguson Jr. wasn’t perfect, but he got the finish anyway.

Ferguson rebounded from a failed Bellator debut last November to finish off D.J. Griffin via TKO at the 3:40 mark of the first round.

Midway through the round, Ferguson (1-1 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) found himself in an uncomfortable position, despite being on top, as Griffin’s jiu-jitsu appeared to give Slice some trouble. So Slice decided to let the fight get back to standing.

When it did, Slice stunned Griffin (0-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a left hook, then followed up moments later with another that dropped him. It was over soon after, with Slice raining hammerfists on Griffin to earn the stoppage.
