A driver is in custody after a car crashed into a Paris police vehicle in the busy Champs-Elysees area Monday, officials say.
The AFP news agency tweeted that there were no casualties in the incident, citing an official.
France’s BFM.tv says the vehicle caught fire after the crash, and the driver was detained by police.
Authorities have recommended on social networks to avoid the area, and the neighborhood has been closed off to traffic.
The famous site was the site of an April shooting in which a police officer was killed by an attacker supporting the Islamic State terror group.
