DHS Principal Kristy Anelli not returning
The following statement is from Ms. Anelli
I have been very blessed throughout my career in BCPS to hold many different positions of leadership. The role of principal of Dundalk High School has been, by far, one of the most rewarding of my career. With high expectations and a vision and mission based on what works in high achieving schools, we demonstrated improvement in attendance, graduation rate, organizational health, PARCC, and SAT in the past two years.
Our shared focus on the vision and mission has truly been remarkable. Visitors to our school have been in awe of instruction, of teacher relationships with students, of classroom environments, and of student culture and climate. As Theodore Roosevelt said, “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” While there is much left to do, I believe Dundalk is in a better place today than when I arrived based on our data.
I want to thank each and every person who supported me and our shared vision for Dundalk High School. I will treasure our work together. I wanted to take this opportunity to inform the faculty and staff that I have requested a transfer to a central office position.
It has been an honor, a privilege, and a blessing to open my heart to each and every one of you. I am proud of the teacher growth and leadership that has occurred since I became principal as well as our progress in building relationships with students. I can say with certainty that the most amazing faculty and staff in Baltimore County are right here in this building!!
It has been an absolute pleasure to have served you as the principal of Dundalk High School. As I look forward to my new position, there will always be a special place in my heart for the Dundalk community. We have great community support for DHS to soar to new heights! I wish each of you success and happiness in your future endeavors.
