Franchot to promote ‘Reform on Tap’ task force, chat with brewers and enthusiasts

WHO:             Comptroller Peter Franchot

WHAT:          Comptroller Franchot will stop by the Maryland Craft Beer Festival in Frederick on Saturday to mingle with attendees and talk about his newly formed “Reform On Tap” task force. The Comptroller announced the launch of the task force last month to work toward modernizing Maryland’s beer laws and to promote economic growth across the State. The task force, composed of 40 members representing key stakeholders within the beer industry from across the state, will conduct a comprehensive review of the State’s antiquated laws that govern the manufacturing, distribution and sale of Maryland craft beer.

The Maryland Craft Beer Festival, sponsored by the Brewers Association of Maryland, includes beer tastings from more than 40 Maryland breweries, including a few that have not yet opened to the public. In all, there will be more than 180 unique local craft beers. Advance ticket purchases are required for entry.
