If there ever comes a time when you can’t get to your little ones in an emergency situation, here’s a simple way to help them out before the situation occurs.

Alexis Copas took to Twitter to share the safety tip after spotting it on Facebook, urging parents to write out important information about their children and stick it to their car seats.

“This helps EMS [emergency medical services] a ton,” the post read. “And it can also help save your child’s life.”

Motor vehicle injuries are a leading cause of death among children, but by using a top-rated car seat and providing as much information as possible through a simple note like Copas’s, lives could be saved.

Since Copas posted the advice she found, other parents have thanked her for sharing, adding that they’ll be writing notes for their kids’ car seats too.
