Kenwood High School was placed into a brief lockdown Friday after reports of a person with a weapon being inside the building, Baltimore County Police said.

The school went into lockdown around 11 a.m. There was no weapon found and one student was taken into custody, police said.

The lockdown was lifted at 11:35 a.m. and police say all students are safe.

A video showing students running out of the school, located at 501 Stemmers Run Road in Essex, and police in tactical gear running into the building.

“The Baltimore County Police is aware of a video that is circulating on social media which shows members of our tactical team entering Kenwood HS earlier today. Students can be seen exiting/evacuating the school which is the protocol under ALICE – an acronym for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate. ALICE is part of the BCPS Active Assailant Protocol,” a police spokesperson said in a news release.
