Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Wednesday, Dec. 6:

Boys basketball

Dulaney 51, Friends 28: The Lions broke the game open with a 15-6 second-quarter run. Erza Tull scored 16 points and Paul Gross had 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Lions (0-1) over the Quakers (1-2). Tull also grabbed five rebounds, while Gross had three blocks and three steals.

Glenelg 53, Marriotts Ridge 50: Will Powowarski scored 13 points to lead the host Gladiators (1-0) over the Mustangs (0-1).

Glen Burnie 65 St. Peter & Paul 46: Eric Daniels had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Gophers (1-0) over the Sabres. Greg Pittman had 15 points and Jordan Dailey had 12 points and eight rebounds for Glen Burnie.

Southern 59, Bard 28: Brian Griffin scored 19 points, Sabin Cordua had 14 points and Rex Wooster had 10 points to lead the host Bulldogs over the Bulls.

Archbishop Spalding 67, Calvert Hall 51: The Cavaliers secured the win in the home opener behind 16 points from TJ Moultrie, 14 points from Elijah Barrett, 12 points from Kam Carter and 11 points from Malik Washington.

Northeast 76, Pikesville 43: Cam Albury rained 32 points on the Panthers, followed by Shamar Johnson, who netted a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Ryan Stacy had 12 points, five assists and five steals. Tim Savoy and Torrin Roberts led the defense that restrained Pikesville to 12 second-half points.

Lansdowne 53, Chesapeake Science Point 49: Trevor Jones had 19 points and Topaz Willams had 12 points to lead the Vikings (1-0) over the Tigers (0-1). Chesapeake Science Point’s Deon Darko led all scorers with 22 points and Oluwagbotemi Ogungbile had 13 points.

Atholton 53, Centennial 46: The Raiders (1-0) had three double-digit scorers led by Josh Wright with 13. Both Amir Shaheed and Deon Dent scored 10 points. For Centennial (0-1), Josh Frazier had 25 points.

River Hill 78, Howard 57: OJ Ndu scored a team-high 19 points to lead the Hawks (1-0) in the win. Both Braden Sauritch and Aiden Igwebe had 16 points. For Howard (0-1), Griffin Garner had 17 points.

Long Reach 62, Wilde Lake 56: The Lightning (1-0) earned a season-opening win powered by the duo of Jayden Saunders and RJ Barnes. Saunders had 26 points while Barnes added 20 in the win. For Wilde Lake (0-1), Noah Brazil had 16 points while Kain Corkeron had 14.

Mt. Hebron 55, Reservoir 52: The Vikings (1-0) started the season with a win as Julian Kelly led the way with 18 points. Both Tai Akinlosotu and Ezra Yauger each scored 10. For Reservoir (0-1), Jaylen Burley had a team-high 16 points while Phoenix Eggleston had 11.

Girls basketball

Glenelg 48, Marriotts Ridge 24: The visiting Gladiators (1-0) beat the Mustangs (0-1). Reese Holden led Glenelg with 16 points while Emmy Dello Russo scored 12. For Marriotts Ridge, Madelyn Dell had six.

Long Reach 43, Wilde Lake 21: The Lightning earned a season-opening win over the Wildecats. Quinn Corkeron led Wilde Lake with seven points.

Atholton 42, Centennial 41, 2 OT: The Raiders (1-0) edged out the Eagles in a thriller as Kendi Caldwell had nine points for Atholton, while Keagan Williams added seven. For Centennial (0-1), Adria Welsh had nine points.

Hammond 55, Oakland Mills 51: Sara Yarnell had a team-high 19 points and nine rebounds in the season-opening win for the Golden Bears (1-0). Nia Green added 18 points and six rebounds, while Asia Mitchell chipped in 11 and six boards. For Oakland Mills (0-1), Adey Alexander had 12 points.

Havre de Grace 45, C. Milton Wright 44: Sanai Knox hit the game-winner to lift the Warriors over the Mustangs. She finished the night with seven points and five rebounds. Freshman Sabree Knox led the win with 20 points and six rebounds. Natalie Burton chipped in six points and three steals. Emma Jankowia had 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Sam Wolfkill chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds for the Mustangs.

Edgewood 64, Patapsco 33: The Rams jumped out to a 23-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Sam Donovan had a game-high 22 points, also adding four steals and four assists. Jael Erickson chipped in 13 points and Phanierra Barnett had a game-high 12 rebounds.

Gerstell 39, St. Timothy’s 30: Annie Jackson scored 11 points to lead the visiting Falcons (2-0) over St. Tim’s (1-2). Kiara Hardy and Taylor Moran each chipped in eight points. Eniyah Stinnette and Miley Alguire both recorded double-digit rebounds.

Loch Raven 39, Hereford 37: The host Raiders (1-0) beat the Bulls (0-1).

Wrestling

Century splits their first tri-meet, beating Catoctin, 42-34 and losing to Tuscarora, 42-21. Brayden Brassell (120), Talin Evans (150) and Chidima Iziogo (285) went 2-0 for the Knights. Zoey Page (155) went 1-1 for Century’s girls.

Liberty 70, Guilford Park 9: The Lions got the big win with pins from Joshua Moore (106), Dylan Ohler (150), Kevin Poole (165), Dominic Marsico (175) and Dylan Rubin (215). Guilford Park got a pin from Leo Saravia (120).

Patterson Mill 39, North Harford 33: Down 27-15 with only five matches to go, the Huskies battled back with 24 unanswered points led by pins from Noah Vallow, Jeff Gessner and Toby Dunkleberger. Melder Sandoval also had a pin for Patterson Mill, while Gavin Voelker got a win by decision.

Swimming

Patterson Mill swept all legs of a meet with Joppatowne, Bohemia Manor and Perryville. Kade Snyder and Joey Sauer were multi-event winners, Snyder winning the boys 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Sauer winning the 50 and 200 freestyles. Michael Pape added a win for the boys in the 100 freestyle. For the girls, Gabriella Eraso won the 50 freestyle, Molly Cooper won the 100 butterfly and Emily Everitt won the 500 freestyle. All three plus Ava Shores won the 200 freestyle relay.
