[Baltimore Sun] Joppa house fire, Rising Sun car car blaze both under investigation

A Friday evening fire caused about $50,000 in damage to a Joppa home, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

At 7:11 p.m., the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at a mobile home in the 100 block of Orsburn Drive, according to a fire marshal release. It took about 30 minutes for 20 firefighters to control the blaze, which started in an interior bedroom. No one was injured.

The primary cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the release.

Additionally, a Saturday morning vehicle blaze in Rising Sun is also under investigation, according to a separate fire marshal release.

At 3:47 a.m., the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun responded to a fire in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado in the unit block of Hawthorne Drive. It took about 20 minutes for 15 firefighters to control the blaze, according to the release. No one was injured in the fire, which caused about $10,000 in damages.
