The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is offering an opportunity to take part in the global Great Backyard Bird Count at the Environmental Center on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
Delve into bird flight patterns, listen to their calls and songs and learn about key color markings to identify bird species at the event, according to a news release. Participants can birdwatch with binoculars from the upper deck of the museum, located at 100 Lafayette St., and the data collected will be submitted to the global Great Backyard Bird Count.
In addition, participants can make their own paper airplanes and see which one flies the farthest, according to the release. This event will occur rain or shine as the museum has indoor viewing opportunities.
