[Baltimore Sun] Havre de Grace Autumn Fest 2024 looking for volunteers, vendors and donations

Read Time:1 Minute, 18 Second

The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is seeking vendors, volunteers and donations for its upcoming free community event, Autumn Fest.

The third annual, family-friendly event is planned for Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Maritime Museum and Lighthouse Keeper’s Grounds in Havre de Grace.

During Autumn Fest, children can participate in a variety of fall-inspired games and activities such as decorating pumpkins. Apple cider and donuts from the Churchville farm, Lorh’s Orchard, will be on sale and a professional pumpkin carver will raffle carved pumpkins.

The rain or shine event will also include a plant sale during which a variety of native plants, mums, pumpkins and more can be purchased.

Revenue from Autumn Fest will be used to fund educational programs and activities at the museum’s environmental center, which, during the event, will be open and offering activities.

Cynthia Leffler, event organizer for the museum, said the festival is especially looking for nature-inspired vendors, but all vendors are welcome.

She noted a need for pumpkin donations to use for the children’s decorating activity, and volunteers to assist with games.

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor, volunteer or donating supplies should contact her at 410-652-9757 or by email at GardensdeGrace@hotmail.com.

Vendors who pre-register for Autumn Fest qualify for a discounted rate to register for the museum’s 2025 Garden Mart event in the spring. For more information, go to the vendor application on the Maritime Museum’s website at hdgmaritimemuseum.org.
