[Baltimore Sun] FOX45: Video shows crash of stolen vehicle; five juveniles arrested after Baltimore carjacking

Baltimore police arrested five juveniles Wednesday on charges related to a series of robberies, assaults and a carjacking.

Just before noon Wednesday, a call for a carjacking near Johns Hopkins University was put out.

A short time later, Baltimore Police spotted the stolen vehicle and gave chase.

It crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Erdman and Belair Road, before the suspects ran from the vehicle.

FOX45 News obtained surveillance of the crash and part of the foot chase.

The video shows two suspects running from police, who appear to be very young.

One can be seen taking off a ski mask, which was described in the carjacking.

According to Baltimore Police, the suspects are 12, 13, two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old.

Baltimore Police say each of the suspects have previous arrest for stolen vehicles.

According to the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office, as of Sept. 27th, 240 juveniles have been charged with motor vehicle related crimes, including carjacking or armed carjackings.

Meanwhile, according to data released by the Baltimore Police Department this week, carjackings are up 36%, over a 28-day period.
