Early voting for the Nov. 5 presidential election starts Thursday in Carroll County, and continues through Oct. 31.

Early voting locations in the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, and include:

Westminster Senior Center, 125 Stoner Ave., Westminster
South Carroll Senior Center, 5928 Mineral Hill Road, Sykesville
Coppermine PantherPlex, 1400 Panther Drive, Hampstead

Erin Perrone, director of the Carroll County Board of Elections, said she wanted to remind voters that the county uses paper ballots that are marked with a pen then inserted into a machine to be scanned and counted.

“There will be two scanning units at each early voting center and five ballot-marking devices at each,” she stated in an email.

There are 130,325 registered voters in Carroll County as of September, according to the Board of Elections. Of those registered, there are 33,301 Democrats, 64,209 Republicans and 30,503 unaffiliated voters. The Libertarian Party has 845 voters, the No Label Movement has 136, the Green Party has 132 and 1,199 are considered “other.”
