A 5-month-old, a 9-year-old and a woman are dead after going over Niagara Falls on Luna Island, according to New York State Troopers.
On Monday, Oct. 28 around 9 p.m., New York State Park Police responded to an incident on or around Goat Island in Niagara Falls, NY.
Troopers said the investigation determined three individuals, 33-year-old Chaianti Means, 9-year-old Roman Rossman and 5-month-old Mecca Means crossed over a safety guard rail and went over Niagara Falls on Luna Island, attached to Goat Island.
Troopers say the investigation has determined the incident was intentional in nature, though the circumstances remain under investigation. New York State Park Police and State Police search and rescue efforts were conducted with negative results.
Troopers added all three of the individuals are from Niagara Falls, New York and the incident is not a public threat to safety.
New York State Park Police Unmanned Aircraft Systems, NYSPP Marine Patrol, NYSP Aviation, Underwater Recovery Unit, Niagara Falls Police Department and Niagara Charter Schools are assisting in this investigation.
