[Baltimore Sun] Maryland’s Most Wanted: Dispute between neighbors ends in home invasion, shooting, authorities say

An argument between neighbors led to a home invasion and a Baltimore man is wanted for attempted murder, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Larry Braxton, 44, is wanted on multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, home invasion and weapons-related charges, investigators said.
Officers were called to a home on Sheldon Avenue in east Baltimore’s Belair- Edison neighborhood at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 13, according to court documents.
Investigators said they found a woman lying near the staircase with multiple gunshot wounds to her lower body. The woman was rushed to an area hospital where she was later interviewed by detectives, investigators said.
Neighbors heard the sound of shouting and then glass shattering.
During an argument with her neighbor, a woman said she picked up a brick and threw it at the front door of her neighbor’s home, shattering the glass, according to the statement of charges.
It’s unclear what the argument was about.
The woman told police she then walked back into her home, where a short time later she heard loud voices and kicking at her door.
Investigators said the neighbor she had been arguing with and his father, later identified by investigators as Braxton, allegedly kicked in her door and entered the house armed with a gun.
The unidentified male suspect, later identified as Braxton, “produced a handgun and shot the woman as she tried to flee upstairs,” according to the charging documents.
“Mr. Braxton is accused of shooting the woman multiple times,” said Mat Silverman, deputy marshal with the U.S. Marshals Service.
Detectives obtained a warrant to search the home of believed suspect Braxton, according to court documents.
The statement of charges indicates while searching the basement of the home, investigators recovered 22 gel caps of white powder suspected to be heroin, ammunition, empty handgun magazines, and several pieces of mail addressed to Braxton.
Investigators specified Braxton is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition because of prior felony convictions including a 2019 CDS possession with intent to distribute, a 2011 first-degree assault and a 2004 CDS possession with intent to distribute.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
“It’s extremely important to get someone like Braxton off the streets,” Silverman said.
Braxton is about 5-foot-9 and weighs approximately 125 pounds.
