[Baltimore Sun] Trump would use military to quash demonstrations | READER COMMENTARY

Read Time:29 Second

The letter writer who pointed out the massive protests at Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration confuses First Amendment freedom of expression with peaceful transition of power.

Of course, people have the right to protest in the United States — for now, anyway. Trump, however, has floated the idea of using the military to stop such demonstrations.

Is that what the writer means by a graceful transition? Is that democracy, “Hon” (“Can Trump be like Lincoln?” Nov. 19)?
