Here’s a roundup of local college football games played on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Division I

North Dakota State 41, Towson 24: The visiting Tigers (1-3) surged in the fourth quarter, but their rally fell short in a rematch of the 2014 NCAA Football Championship Subdivision title game. The host Bison (3-1), ranked No. 2 in FCS coaches poll and 17-time national champions, broke a 3-3 tie by scoring 21 unanswered points in the second quarter. Towson had three rushing touchdowns in the second half by Nathan Kent (Liberty), Carlos Davis (Mervo) and Tyrell Greene Jr. (Kenwood).

Towson got as close as 31-24 on Greene’s 72-yard touchdown run with 10 minutes left in the game, but Griffin Grosa kicked his second field goal and CharMar Brown added another 1-yard touchdown with a minute to go after Towson turned the ball over on downs at its 20. Brown rushed for 126 yards on 24 carries, and Cam Miller was 17 of 19 passing for 219 yards and a score.

Davis passed for 135 yards and Greene had 94 rushing yards.

Division II

Frostburg State 54 Concord 21: The visiting Mountain Lions (0-3, 0-1) took a one-point lead with 8:38 left in the first half, but the Bobcats (3-0, 2-0 Mountain East Conference) answered with six consecutive scoring plays and 31 points to pull away. Frostburg State was led by Owen Doyle had 19 carries for 99 yards and three touchdowns and Myles Fulton (Old Mill), who completed 13 of 29 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. The Bobcats travel to Mercyhurst on Saturday.

Bowie State 31, Livingstone 17: Kevin Taylor scored two touchdowns to lead the host Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) over the Blue Bears (2-2, 0-1). Taylor had a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and a 34-yard touchdown reception in the fourth. Bowie State took a 17-0 lead in the first half and rolled. The Bulldogs travel to Winston-Salem State on Saturday.

Division III

Salisbury 41, Johns Hopkins 13: The visiting Sea Gulls (3-0) trailed by three in the first half before going on a 31-0 run in the second to beat the Blue Jays (2-1). Salisbury was led by Michael Cox, who had seven carries for 80 yards and two touchdowns, and Gage Katzenell-Hall, who completed 5 of 10 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. Bay Harvey had 14 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown and Brad Paxton made two field goals for Hopkins. The Blue Jays host Rowan on Friday, while the Sea Gulls host Christopher Newport on Saturday.

Stevenson 21, Delaware Valley 20: Daryus Henderson blocked the extra point attempt by Brendan Hazell with five minutes left to play to preserve the Mustangs’ lead over the visiting Aggies (2-1, 1-1 Middle Atlantic Conference). Stevenson (1-2, 1-1) tied the game twice in the second quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run by Jordan Adams and a 21-yard touchdown pass from Adams to Nicholas Griffin. The Mustangs took the lead on a 16-yard touchdown run by Seth Parker in the fourth quarter.

William Paterson 27, McDaniel 14: The visiting Pioneers (1-2) erased a 7-0 deficit with a 27-0 run over three quarters to beat the Green Terror (1-2). Bailey Himes had a 52-yard interception return for a touchdown and Connor Schoene (Patterson Mill) kicked the extra point with 9:27 left in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead. The Green Terror scoring drive came with 2:51 left in the third quarter. Eric Grinwis (Hammond) had a 4-yard touchdown run and Schoene kicked the extra point.
