Ten people have been charged in connection with a drug trafficking organization in Northeast Baltimore, the city’s State’s Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

Police started investigating a group called “4200” selling cocaine, heroin and fentanyl near the 4300 block of Belair Road in Belair-Parkside and the 4200 block of Nicholas Avenue in Belair-Edison in February, according to a release from the state’s attorney’s office. Two men were charged with felony distribution of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl in June, according to indictments. Charges for most of the defendants were not available in court records Monday.

Police executed a search warrant at a Royal Tobacco & Grocery store on Belair Road and charged a store clerk who lived in an apartment above the business, according to the release. At the store, as well as four houses nearby and houses in Northeast and East Baltimore, officers recovered nine guns, including an AR-stylerifle, ammunition, 200 grams of heroin and fentanyl, and 120 grams of cocaine, according to the release. Police also searched an apartment in Gwynn Oak in Baltimore County and found cocaine and fentanyl, according to court documents.

“This investigation secured the indictments of 10 individuals terrorizing the surrounding community and jeopardizing the safety and well-being of countless families. The takedown results from a coordinated effort between our office, law enforcement, city government, and community members, all committed to removing dangerous drugs and criminals from our streets,” State’s Attorney Ivan Bates said in the release.
