Anne Arundel County Police are installing five additional automated speed enforcement cameras in school zones

Five new camera locations will be added to the program in early October, and will become active after a 15-day warning period.

The locations include Pasadena Elementary, Millersville Elementary, Quarterfield Elementary, Monarch Academy and Solley Elementary. In the case of Solley Elementary, the existing camera will be moved from the northbound side of Solley Road to the southbound side.

Speed limits in these areas vary between 25 and 35 mph. Those driving 12 mph or more over the speed limit will get a $40 ticket.

The Anne Arundel County Police began implementing its Automated Traffic Enforcement Speed Program, which aims to reduce fatalities and injuries, in June by installing portable camera units at five school zones with a 15-day warning period.

All camera are marked with signage and the locations are available on the AACPD website.
