Additional Update: The Baltimore Post has learned of the identity and sex of the officer wounded in the shooting. The Post attempted to contact the media relations unit of the police department who claimed they did not have any of that information. In addition, the Post also inquired if the wounded officer’s family has been notified and again the media relations could not provide any information.
The Post will not release any more information until the media relations unit gets its facts straight.
The Post just received information that the suspect is deceased.
The Baltimore Post has received information that a Baltimore County police officer has been shot in the stomach and is currently being transported to Shock Trauma. Additional reports indicate the shooting took place in the Linwood section of the Parkville area.
The Baltimore Post contacted the Baltimore County Public Safety unit to verify this information. The Post was advised that a public information officer was en route to the area to discuss recent police activity.
Other reports indicate that the situation may have involved a barricaded subject.
We have been told that the officer was shot with a small caliber weapon and is in stable condition.
