Publisher’s Note: We offered Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger space on our page to dispute anything we published that wasn’t true. Dutch’s Communications Director, Jaime Lennon, took us up on our offer and sent the response below. We are publishing her reply exactly as submitted. However, we want to state for the record that if we truly had a personal vendetta against Dutch like Ms. Lennon insinuated, we would not publish her words or enter into any type of debate.
In addition to his August 17 letter expressing “many thanks” to Congressman Ruppersberger and his staff for its multi-year advocacy on his behalf, Mr. Ruth time and again has said he is satisfied with the service and treatment he has received from the VA. In fact, he described his medical history in an email to Buzz Beeler just last week, stating, “after all this, I paid nothing out of pocket with the exception of a partial expense of the medical bills from the local hospital … I really like the VA Medical Center. Any problem I had they were right there to correct it.” Mr. Beeler has declined to include Mr. Ruth’s email, a copy of which was sent to Congressman Ruppersberger, in his smear campaign because he is more interested in manipulating a disabled veteran for headlines than the truth.
Congressman Ruppersberger has helped thousands of veterans access their benefits over the years and we encourage anyone encountering red tape to give our office a call.
