Petty and petulant Johnny O and Hyatt assert their stubborn dominance over FOP

The Baltimore County FOP sent a strong shot across the bow of the SSJohnnyO with a vote of no confidence against the county executive’s hand-picked choice for police chief, Melissa Hyatt.

Chief Hyatt recently came under fire from the FOP for her faux pas of including the name of a deceased BCPD sergeant during a memorial service for fallen Baltimore County Police officers, a move the FOP called a “disgrace.”

In true Johnny O fashion, the county executive is completely ignoring the message being sent by the FOP. Like a petulant child, good ol’ Commie Johnny is sticking by his mistake come hell or high water. According to the Sun article:

Olszewski said in an emailed statement Monday night that he remains “fully confident” in Hyatt and her ability to lead the Baltimore County Police Department.

Folks, Johnny O has never admitted to making a mistake. Even when he was trying to strip the Inspector General of her powers because his political cronies were getting caught in her net, our county executive accepted no blame for the IG office going in a direction different than he expected.

Meanwhile, Chief Hyatt also chooses to keep her head in the sand, calling the letter the work of “a small group of my critics from within the current police union leadership.”

Baltimore County Police Chief Melissa Hyatt provides response to FOP Lodge 4 letter

May 23, 2022 On June 17, 2019, I was sworn in as the 14th Chief of Police for the Baltimore County Police Department. As a lifelong resident of our County, I fully appreciated the responsibility entrusted to me as the Chief of Police.

Could Johnny O’s ‘arms folded, feet stomping, nose turned up’ response to the FOP be politically motivated? After all, he was NOT the FOP-endorsed candidate in the last election:

Sadly, Johnny O will keep putting on his PhD hat and showing everyone that he is much smarter than the citizens of Baltimore County, the Inspector General, and now the FOP.

Let’s remember that come election time, eh folks?
