The Baltimore Post decided to take a closer look at the current evidence being presented from members of the scientific and medical communities regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis.

We took on this task after viewing an interview with Dr. Crystal Watson, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, that was featured on WBAL-TV News. We also felt motivated to investigate after Governor Larry Hogan and Maryland School Superintendent Dr. Karen Salmon announced their decision to close public schools for the rest of the year.

Those decisions could have a lasting impact on the health and welfare regarding the citizens of the state of Maryland. The following quote was taken from the WBAL-TV News regarding “contact tracing,” an issue that many scientific and medical professionals are now calling fruitless.

“We’ve suppressed it in a fairly effective way with these population-level social distancing measures. But once we remove those, to a large extent, there is much less holding the virus back, and we could get to see this transmission begin to grow again. So I hope that leaders will think carefully before they do that,” said Dr. Crystal R. Watson, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.

On May 3, 2020, The Baltimore Post sent Dr. Watson an in-depth email requesting a response about her social distancing statement. We have not yet received a reply.

As new evidence begins to emerge on a daily basis, more experts in the medical and scientific communities are leaning toward a drastically different approach in dealing with COVID-19.

One of the most shocking revelations came from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. In a recent press conference, he revealed some startling new statistics on the impact of the coronavirus.

Tucker Carlson reports on New York Gov. Cuomo’s astounding findings dealing with coronavirus deaths.

Those statistics may contradict Gov. Hogan and Dr. Watson’s approach to dealing with this deadly virus.

The other issue at hand is the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security setting guidelines that continue the policies of social distancing and contact tracing.

The Baltimore Post addressed these issues in a previous column discussing the merits of what is known as herd immunity:

Gov. Hogan, let voices be ‘herd’ and put children back in school

Some of you may remember the two California doctors who performed their own study about COVID-19. Hopefully you’ve already seen the video, because YouTube removed it because they claimed it did not meet their community standards.

So much for freedom of speech, eh folks?

One of those doctors censored by YouTube, Dr. Daniel Erickson, recently posted another interview with one of the world’s leading epidemiologists, Dr. Knut Wittkowski. In that video, which can be viewed below, both reiterated that the only way to stop coronavirus is through herd immunity.

So, despite JHU steadfastly standing behind contact tracing and social distancing to battle COVID-19, there is increasing support for doing just the opposite.
