A burglary suspect was confronted by a homeowner in the 7900 block of Diehlwood Road in Dundalk, according to Baltimore County Police officials.

After the initial confrontation, the suspect was chased by the victim/homeowner to a location on Langport Ave., directly across from Patapsco High School. That was the point when the suspect and the homeowner became involved in an altercation.

One eyewitness said the weapon used by the victim/homeowner appeared to be some sort of machete. According to police officials, officers received a call about a fight in the middle of the street. Upon arrival, they found the seriously-injured suspect, as well as the homeowner.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for his injuries while police interviewed the victim of the burglary, who can be seen in the photos sitting on the curb while speaking with two Baltimore County Police officers.

Below are exclusive photographs taken by a Baltimore Post photographer.
