At 11:51 pm the Baltimore County Fire Department responded to a two alarm blaze at Fort Howard, the old Veterans Hospital located in the 9600 block of North Point Road.

The fire went to two alarms and no injuries were reported.

The building that burned was adjacent to two buildings involved in previous fires that occurred on December 6 and September 12, 2014. All three fires are under investigation.

A neighbor reported seeing several juveniles fleeing the scene through a hole in the fence and fleeing in a vehicle. A witness provided investigators with a tag number.

Fort Howard is the proposed sight for a $500 million senior retirement community involving Fort Howard LLC which signed an Enhanced Use Lease with the Veterans Administration on July 2, 2014.

In a previous blog It was reported that work was being done on the grounds of Fort Howard without permits being issued by Baltimore County.

I’ll keep the readers posted on details as they come in.
