When there is a crisis, an individual’s response is called “fight or flight syndrome.” These brave men chose to fight for their country rather than flee. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The narrative of the illegal immigration crisis sweeping our nation has changed somewhat, especially now that the Mexican government is faced with its own problems stemming from illegal immigration.

In order to gain a better insight into this issue, let’s take a look at the definition of two terms being addressed. The first term, “invasion,” is defined as follows:

An unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain.
I don’t think we have to provide much explanation or historical context on that one, folks. One can go back to the days of the Bible to find plenty of invasion examples.
Let’s move on to the other term, which is important to comprehend in a very complex and volatile situation: “desertion.”

The action of deserting a person, cause, or organization.

That term has very serious implications in this country and throughout the world, especially when you look at our history.

Now that we have at least a partial understanding of those two terms that are very connected to the migrant caravan approaching the United States, we can make some sort of reasonable comparison. I gave this issue much thought and decided to write about one of the greatest leaders of this nation and his decision to stay and fight rather than take flight.

Take a good look at this column’s featured photograph and you will see a group of men who are beyond suffering because of issues including hunger, fear, freezing, and quite a few other problems that are currently being applied to the immigrant caravan.

Think for a moment what would have happened if the men who made up the militia that fought the British attempt to crush the birth of this nation decided to take flight rather than fight? The answer is quite simple–this entire country would be colored red, and I am not referring to the divide between the Democrats and Republicans regarding this volatile issue of illegal immigration.

What saved this great nation was the leadership of George Washington, as well as his willingness to sacrifice everything in order to make this fledgling group of colonies into one cohesive nation, which was destined to become the greatest country in the world and the true leader of the superpowers.

We know that the overwhelming majority of the caravan immigrants are males. As Mr. Carlson references in his monologue, liberals decry anyone who takes issue with new immigration as being racist. But things always seem different when the proverbial shoe is on the other foot.

I do not hear anyone on the left calling the Mexican people racist. In fact, the Mexican people are screaming that President Trump was right in his assessment of this situation.

I would strongly suggest that the Democratic party study world history and see the what happens when you try to change the culture of a country behind the words and actions of ideologues like Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, the Pope, and the Hollywood elites that live behind gated communities.

All of those screaming to “let them in” may one day be looking at a caravan attempting to climb the gates of their protected domiciles and making demands for shelter and monetary support that cannot possibly be met.

We just wonder if those elitists will “let them in” or not.
