John Ayres, president of the Norwood Holabird Community Association, described Saturday’s storm damage to Norwood Elementary School landscaping as “moderate,” adding he hoped everything could be cleaned up in time for the start of school Aug. 29.
He added that some of trees knocked down at Norwood were part of extensive landscaping improvements over last year.
Ayres said he was also concerned about possible damage to Holabird Middle School from the storm, given budget cuts and the fact that school is scheduled to open in two weeks.
“My hope is there wasn’t significant damage to Norwood and Holabird’s external buildings and roofs,” Ayres said.
