Judging by the video clips below, it appears that Rep. Elijah Cummings is more concerned about his personal battle to attack the President of the United States than he is about the constituents of Baltimore City.
We received the following email from Rep. Cummings that contained a request for campaign contributions. Even though Mr. Cummings claims to represent Maryland families, his actions speak louder than his words.
“Buzz — I know that you are probably preparing to enjoy a weekend with your family and friends. This will only take a minute.
Right now, we are in a fight for the soul of our Democracy. It is up to us to hold President Trump accountable. We have to speak out when he lies and distracts. We have to take action when he eschews our democratic values.
I don’t take my job lightly. I promise to always represent Maryland families in Congress. But I need your help.
I am personally asking for your contribution. I rely on your donations to make sure that I have the resources necessary to defend the House Majority in 2020.
And we have an important FEC deadline coming up. We need to raise $5,000 before the month is over.”
It appears that Rep. Cummings does not understand the definition of “… our Democracy.”
Here is some information that the Congressman may find useful:
Core Democratic Values Defined
Core democratic values are the fundamental beliefs and Constitutional principles of American society, which unite all Americans. These values are expressed in the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and other significant documents, speeches and writings of the nation. Life: Each citizen has the right to the protection of his or her life.
Liberty: Liberty includes the freedom to believe what you want, freedom to choose your own friends, and to have your own ideas and opinions, to express your ideas in public, the right for people to meet in groups, the right to have any lawful job or business.
The pursuit of Happiness: Each citizen can find happiness in his or her own way, so long as he or she does not step on the rights of others.
Justice: All people should be treated fairly in getting advantages and disadvantages of our country. No group or person should be favored.
Common Good: Citizens should work together for the good of all. The government should make laws that are good for everyone.
Notice the definition of a Democracy focuses on “citizens.”
Does Rep. Cummings focus on the citizens? Not from our vantage point. Perhaps if he did, Baltimore wouldn’t be in such woeful shape.
Judging by the following videos, Mr. Cummings may want to reevaluate his position as the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform and hold hearings on the very egregious attempt to take away our Democracy.
Rather than try to take down our elected president, Rep. Cummings Should spend his days investigating the homegrown left-wing terrorist group Antifa,
In another incident involving the terrorist’s group Antifa, a man armed with an AR-15 was shot and killed by responding police as he attempted to blow up the ICE facility.
Ask for our hard-earned tax dollars all you want, Congressman. We won’t fill your coffers to carry out your political witch hunt just because your side is upset over losing the election.
