The Baltimore Post issues a retraction regarding our article on County Executive Candidate Al Redmer
Posted by Buzz Beeler on 3rd June 2018

The Baltimore Post removed the article titled “Sanctuary status showdown in Republican county executive primary,” and is issuing a retraction.

The article that stated that the Post had not received a response from Republican candidate for Baltimore County Executive Al Redmer, the Maryland State Insurance Commissioner regarding a question posted to his Facebook page. The question dealt with the issue of maintaining Baltimore County as a sanctuary county.  Mr. Redmer did in fact respond to the Post request, a fact that was unknown at the time of our publication.

Below is the response regarding our question from Mr. Redmer:

Buzz Beeler Mr. Redmer, please consider this query for on the record. What is your position on the situation involving the status of Baltimore County being listed as sanctuary county? We will be going to publication within the next two weeks regarding this issue. Other candidates have been posed the same question. Thank you for your time in this matter

Al Redmer Jr Buzz, we will go to federal court over the settlement that Kamenetz signed (without Council approval)…. and the police will cooperate with all law enforcement agencies, including ICE.

The Post strives to maintain exemplary journalistic integrity. To that end, we felt it necessary to remove the story completely. We apologize to our readers and especially to Mr. Redmer, for our error.
