Update:  Besides Lansdowne HS, the Post has received information involving several other BCPS  where additional threats of violence were made.

Those schools include Sparrows Point HS, Patapsco HS, and General John Stricker Middle School. According to parents, both Baltimore County Police Department and BCPS are investigating these potential threats.

The Baltimore Post has been contacted by the media relations unit of the Baltimore County Police Department. The spokesperson stated that the police were aware of the incident and will provide extra security at the school on Friday. Additionally, the spokesperson added that the investigation will be a top priority to determine who was responsible this incredulous incident.

Additionally, our source advised that Lansdowne HS did provide a Robo-Call to the parents and children of the high school regarding the incident.

The Baltimore Post received the above screenshot about Lansdowne HS. Sadly, after the incident that occurred in Florida, these types of threats are becoming commonplace across the nation, and now in Baltimore County as well.

It is our responsibility as a news corporation to educate and alert the public about such transgressions. As the saying goes, “If you hear something, say something.”

That is precisely what we are doing with this column.

According to our source, there is no confirmation as to what time the above message was sent. A similar situation occurred at Patapsco HS, and the school administration notified those parents afterward.

Our source also contacted a member of the BCPS Board, who was unaware of the message.

The Baltimore Post immediately contacted the Baltimore County Police Department with this information. We were advised that the police had received numerous calls pertaining to the issue. We are waiting additional information from the media relations unit of the police department.

We will also note that, following a routine fire drill at another BCPS location, someone activated another fire alarm shortly thereafter.

This type of behavior must not be tolerated in our school system.

That is just disturbing, folks.

These issues cannot be taken lightly, as we saw with the Florida shooting.
