Minutes before he took off in a single-engine airplane and quickly plunged into a Churchville field, Army Maj. Gen. Anthony Wayne Potts told a mechanic at Harford County Airport that he was preparing for a cross-country flight and planned to fly the propeller plane in the airport’s traffic pattern, according to a new report on the fatal July 25 crash.
