Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Wednesday, April 17.

Softball

Hereford 2, Western Tech 1: Ryan Larkin threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Bulls topped the Wolverines. Daniel Metz brought home the go-ahead run when he reached on an error in the bottom of the fourth. Peyton Whittle also had an RBI hit in the win.

Marriotts Ridge 14, Atholton 1: The Mustangs (6-3) continued to roll, winning their sixth game in a row. Olivia Ober and Biff Lorah each had two RBIs. Marriotts Ridge jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first. Sienna Williams earned the win, striking out nine and allowing just one hit in five innings.

Patterson Mill 15, Harford Tech 1: Lily Baldwin threw a two-hitter, giving up just one unearned run while striking out five. Offensively, Aubrey March had three hits, including a home run and three RBIs. Izzy Hiebler also drove in three runs in the win. Ava Ward and Savannah Reedy each had two RBIs.

Manchester Valley 14, Winters Mill 1: Isabella Pietryak went 3-for-3, including a triple, to lead the Mavericks’ offense. She drove in three runs in the game. Grace Wood also tripled and chased home two. Brooke Sims, Hailey Facchine, Alex Carroll, Ashlee Hipsley and Sylvie Elliott also had RBIs. Sims got the win in the circle, throwing a five-hitter with five strikeouts.

Century 8, South Carroll 0: Jordan Currie struck out 10 in a seven-hit shutout. She also helped herself out offensively with a triple, a single and two RBIs. Abby Mastria doubled twice and drove in a run for the Knights. Alyssa Sarver singled and drove in two. Tori Mackinson doubled in a run while Mackenzie Carver also had an RBI.

Baseball

Dulaney 4, Parkville 2: Tied at 1 in the top of the seventh, Dulaney scored three. Drew Ranck singled home two runs and later came across the plate on Nate Farlow’s double. Ranck started on the mound and went five innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits. Dylan Townsend pitched the final two innings and got the win.

North Harford 7, Bel Air 1: Tucker Deal went 3-for-4, with a double, and drove in two runs for the Hawks. Matt Hart finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Mason French and Jackson Arminger also drove in runs. On the mound, Collin Kight threw a six-hitter with five strikeouts.

C. Milton Wright 5, Patterson Mill 3: Landon Melnick launched a two-run home run over the left-field fence in the bottom of the eighth to give CMW the win. The Mustangs were down to their final out, but tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when Gavin Miller scored off a wild pitch. Tre McInnes had two hits and two RBIs for the Huskies.
