Scattered storms are forecast to clear up Wednesday morning for a brief reprieve from the rainy week in the Baltimore area.

Clouds are expected to start clearing midmorning Wednesday as temperatures rise to a high near 88 degrees in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday afternoon is anticipated to be moderately breezy, with afternoon winds of about 14 mph and gusts as high as 21 mph.

Some isolated thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon south of the U.S. Route 50 corridor, with potential damaging gusts and large hail.

A coastal flood advisory was in place until 9 a.m. Wednesday morning for the Annapolis area, where minor flooding was expected along the shoreline.

Showers and a few thunderstorms will move across the area through mid-morning. Skies clear out thereafter, allowing temperatures to climb to just short of record values. An isolated thunderstorm may also be possible this afternoon along and south of I-66/US-50. pic.twitter.com/yRuzUmBbBr
